Fundamentals of Writing a Pitch from Gleb Maltsev

Updated workshop schedule for 22.10.2015

09:30 to 10:00 Morning coffee, snacks (networking).
10:00 to 10:45 Fundamentals of scriptwriting.
10:45 to 11:45 Performance, delivery and technique; exercises
11:45 to 12:00 Coffee break.
12:00 to 12:45 Pitch content generation session.
12:45 to 13:15 Lunch (reflection and discussion).
13:15 to 13:30 Warm-up session.
13:30 to 14:15 Pitching and feedback.
14:15 to 14:30 Coffee break.
14:30 to 15:30 Second draft analysis and writing.
15:30 to 16:30 Individual case analysis and coaching.

Each participant would get an hour (instead of the initial 30 minutes) of individual coaching via Skype (ID glebmaltsev).

Pre-workshop Exercise

Questions to answer:
1. “Why do you care about the person you are going to meet?”
2. “How can you actually help them?”

Second task
1. Write out a 140 to 250 character intro of who you are and what the company you are representing is about. Please focus on a concrete mission (big idea).

An example of a concrete big idea coupled with a straight to the point description of what the company does.

“SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets.”

2. Write out the next steps that you will propose to your top ten leads at the end of your meeting with them.
